About Frank French 

 Frank French studied music at San Francisco Conservatory of Music and San Francisco State University and subsequently became a Registered Piano Technician Member of the Piano Technicians Guild. 

Frank French has been servicing pianos since 1972 and is active in all aspects of on-site service for individuals and institutions. Action rebuilding, regulating, voicing, and general restoration including soundboard and pin block installation have been part of his work over the years. 

During his five years tenure in Vienna Austria 1978-1983 he grew familiar with various 19th century instruments including Viennese actions and all variations of English actions from the 1830’s to the present and received some training at the workshop of Dieter Bergauer, now retired, world- renown for antique piano restoration and original construction. 

Frank French has further specialized in various historic temperaments to better serve players interested in hearing the authentic sound of 18th and 19th century music.
